Goa’s Cultural Extravaganza: 25th Lokotsav 2026 Unveils Rich Tapestry of Indian Heritage

Panjim: In a vibrant celebration of India’s diverse cultural landscape, Minister for Art & Culture, Dr. Ramesh Tawadkar, inaugurated the 25th Lokotsav 2026 at Darya Sangam, Kala Academy Campus, Panaji. This 10-day festival, organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Govt. of Goa, and West Zone Cultural Center, Udaipur-Rajasthan, promises to showcase the country’s finest folk arts, handicrafts, and cuisines.

Renowned writer and folklorist, Padma Shri Vinayak Khedekar, Director of Art and Culture, Shri. Vivek Krishna Naik, and Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Ajay Gaude, graced the inaugural ceremony. The festival, open to the public until January 29, 2026, features an array of performances, exhibitions, and stalls showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage.

With over 600 craft persons and traditional food vendors participating, Lokotsav 2026 is a treasure trove of artisanal goods, regional delicacies, and captivating performances. The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors, promoting cultural tourism and supporting local artisans.
