Festa do Povo 3.0: Panjim’s Cultural Extravaganza Returns to Patto Plaza
The third edition of Festa do Povo, or the ‘Festival of the People’, returns to the city on Saturday, January 24, and Sunday, January 25, 2026. This community-led initiative creates a shared civic space where residents come together to celebrate Panaji’s nearly 200-year-old culture, heritage, and everyday life.
The two-day celebration features a diverse lineup of entertainment, including traditional Shigmo temple drums, lamp dances (Divli dance), and live jazz and brass band performances. Highlights include bands like Purple Rain Band and Forefront Band, alongside an art corner showcasing renowned Goan artists and informal storytelling sessions exploring local folklore. Families can enjoy a dedicated children’s zone, while a wide array of food stalls by local home chefs and established restaurants will reflect Goa’s rich culinary diversity.

Venue: Mangrove-lined pedestrian spine, Patto Plaza, Panaji.
