Goa’s Rising Star: 16-Year-Old Gauravi Ravi Dessai Shines at National Weightlifting
Gauravi Ravi Dessai of the Goa Weightlifting Association has garnered remarkable achievements at the national level. At just 16 years of age, Gauravi brought pride to Goa by winning a Bronze Medal in the Youth 44 kg category at the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Weightlifting West Zone League 2025 held in Kota, Rajasthan, registering an impressive total lift of 101 kg. She continued her strong performance by securing 4th place in the Youth 44 kg category at the Asmita Khelo India Women’s Weightlifting National League held in Modinagar, Uttar Pradesh, with an improved total of 105 kg.
Siolim MLA Delila Lobo congratulated Gauravi during her visit to the 12th Session of the Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly alongside MLA Nilesh Cabral and wished her continued success in her sporting journey.
