MAPUSA LAWYERS RALLY BEHIND ASSAULTED COLLEAGUE, DEMAND JUSTICE

The Mapusa Advocates Forum has condemned the attack, stating it’s an assault on the justice system and the legal fraternity. They’ve requested an immediate and transparent investigation and urged proactive measures to ensure the safety of legal professionals, including passing special legislation to protect advocates.

it may be recalled that Advocate Pushparaj R. Navelkar had filed a police complaint after being allegedly assaulted by an unknown person while traveling to Margao court. The incident occurred near Betora junction, where the accused blocked Navelkar’s scooter, abused him, and assaulted him with slaps, blows, and kicks, causing minor injuries. The assailant fled the scene on a motorcycle.

The forum stands in solidarity with Navelkar and wishes him a speedy recovery.
