Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 Draws Record 555 Entries in its 11 edition
~ Strong turnout across Open, Junior and Masters categories underlines the tournament’s growing stature on Goa’s tennis calendar.
~ The 2026 edition of the tournament features the introduction of the ladies’ doubles category for the first time.
Panaji, January 2026 – Registrations have officially closed for the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026, one of Goa’s most popular events on the tennis calendar, witnessing a record total of 555 entries ahead of its 11th edition.
Scheduled to be held from January 22 to February 1 at the iconic Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias in Miramar, the event continues to attract players across age groups and competitive levels. The latest edition of the tournament features the introduction of the ladies’ doubles category.
Jointly organised by Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias and the Gadre Group, in association with the Goa State Tennis Association (GSTA), the tournament has once again seen robust participation across the Open, junior and Masters categories, reflecting sustained interest from the tennis community in Goa and beyond over the years.
“The Gadre Gaspar Dias Open has been a popular fixture in the sports itinerary of our iconic club for a decade. This year’s edition of the tournament is particularly special because it coincides with the centenary celebrations of Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias,” said Tanmay Kholkar, secretary of the Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias.
The prestigious Open men’s singles category leads the field with 111 entries, while 37 pairs have signed up for the Open men’s doubles. The Open ladies’ singles has drawn 32 entries, with 14 pairs competing in the ladies’ doubles category. The Open mixed doubles segment has recorded 18 teams, adding further depth to the competition.
Participation in the junior divisions has also remained upbeat. The boys’ under-16 category has attracted 25 players, while 14 players will compete in the girls under-16 event. In the under-12 segment, 14 boys’ and five girls have registered, underlining steady grassroots engagement.
The Masters segment has drawn strong participation across age groups. The 45+ men’s singles category has recorded 70 entries, followed by 42 entries in the 60+ men’s singles and 30 entries in the 55+ men’s singles category. In the doubles events, the 90+ men’s doubles has emerged as the most subscribed with 60 teams, while 43 teams have registered in the 110+ doubles and 32 teams in the 120+ doubles category. The 35+ mixed doubles, the only mixed event in the Masters segment, has attracted eight teams.
“The consistent rise in participation across categories, including the Masters segment, reflects the confidence players place in this tournament, which has grown into a reliable competitive platform that encourages young players while maintaining high standards at the senior level,” said Sameer Kakodkar, President of the GSTA.

With matches spread over eleven days, the Gadre Gaspar Dias Open 2026 is expected to deliver competitive action across categories, continuing the tournament’s legacy as one of Goa’s most keenly followed tennis events and the first major tennis tournament of the calendar year to be held in the coastal state.
