RABAT, Morocco – Brahim Díaz scored his fifth straight goal at the Africa Cup of Nations, leading host Morocco to a 2-0 victory over Cameroon and securing a semifinal spot. Ayoub El Kaabi’s header from a corner kick was deflected into the net by Díaz’s groin in the 27th minute, and Ismael Saibari sealed the win with a low shot in the 74th.
Cameroon struggled to break Morocco’s defense, with Georges-Kévin Nkoudou’s late chance being their only real threat. Morocco coach Walid Regragui praised his team’s first-half energy but acknowledged room for improvement in the second half.
Morocco will face either Nigeria or Algeria in the semifinals on Wednesday.
