Beautified Gandhi Circle at Mapusa Turns into Garbage Dumping Ground, Tobacco Vendors Raise Concerns
Mapusa: The newly beautified Gandhi Circle in Mapusa, once a pride of the community, has taken a hit as the spot has become a dumping ground for garbage and a hub for tobacco vendors. A lady selling tobacco products near the circle has raised concerns about the enforcement of tobacco control laws in the area, amidst the unsightly surroundings.
”
Sad state of affairs! Beautification efforts have gone to waste. Authorities need to step in,” said a local.
“Unbelievable! A hub for tobacco vendors? What about the kids who visit?” questioned another local.
The spot’s decline is starkly contrasted with its recent makeover, meant to attract locals and tourists alike. Instead, the area is now plagued by litter and vendors flouting tobacco laws, posing health risks to visitors.
