Bicholim: “The book ‘Learning Through Play’ seems to be a part of the current new education policy. Play is an integral part of character building. Games on the playground are not the only form of play; drama, handwriting, solving puzzles, etc., are also considered play. This word should be explored with a new meaning,” said senior education expert Prof. Anil Samant, expressing his opinion that this book is useful for students, parents, and teachers.
He was speaking at the book launch ceremony of ‘Learning Through Play’ by retired teacher Mr. Bharat Betkekar at the Mayem Sikeri Gaushala premises. The book incorporates prayer, meditation, and neuroscience. Prayer before education is important. Nowadays, children are restless and anxious due to mobile phones. Parents should recognize the reasons for this lack of patience in children and provide them with activity-based learning, he said.
Dr. Gurudas Natekar said that his priority is to educate children through classes. He congratulated Betkekar for publishing the book using his educational experience. The author Betkekar expressed his willingness to conduct special classes on this subject at the school.
Present on the dais were entrepreneur Dr. Gurudas Natekar and author Bharat Betkekar. The book was launched by Prof. Anil Samant, President of the Goa Marathi Academy. Sanjana Sawant, Chandni, and others welcomed them with bouquets. Information about the Gaushala’s work was given, and it was mentioned that one can adopt a cow in their name and experience the satisfaction of cow protection by covering its monthly or annual expenses. An appeal was made to everyone to come forward and help the Gaushala.
Manerikar made the appeal.
