Panaji: “The rise of New Year 2026 in the state is likely to usher in a new era for the people of Goa and Goans, if there are no fatal accidents, no murders, no dacoities, no house thefts, no corruption, no commission, and no crimes. You can judge the level of pollution in the state from a sunrise itself. The government needs to do a lot to stop pollution; otherwise, it will finish off our tiny state like Delhi. This can be achieved by banning chemical and smoke-spreading industries right now and banning old vehicles, which form the major part of pollution. There was complete mist and low visibility while passing over the Old Mandovi Bridge, and sometimes it’s so bad that we can’t even see Panaji city from the bridge.”
