“Goa Rounds Table: Empowering the Margins, Strengthening Democracy”
Bambolim: The Chief Electoral Officer Dr Sanjay Goel IAS, chaired a thematic meeting on “Democracy for the Empowerment of Marginalised Sections of Society” to strengthen inclusive democratic practices and participation.
The meeting was attended by representatives from Goa University, V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, and IPHB, Bambolim, including Shri (Dr) Rahul Tripathi, Asst. Prof. Ravji Gaunkar, Shri (Dr) Shaber Ali, Shri Sudesh Nanda Gaude, and Ms. Sapna S. Naik Bandodkar, Nodal Officer for Accessible Elections & State Training Nodal Officer.
Discussions highlighted India’s leadership as Chair of International IDEA and the collective efforts required to empower marginalised sections through inclusive democracy.
The meeting concluded with a call for collective efforts to uphold democratic ideals and to ensure that the voices of the marginalised sections are heard, respected, and represented in the democratic process
