Fire Service Races to Clear Blockage as Tree Branch Crashes onto Thivim Road
Thivim December 26: A swift response from the Mapusa Fire Station averted a potential disaster when a tree branch crashed onto the road near the Forest Department office in Thivim at 11:22 am on Friday.
R.A. Gaonkar, leading firefighter, led the team to the scene, where they quickly cleared the debris and restored normalcy to the busy road. “We received the call at 11:25 am and were on the scene within minutes. Our team worked efficiently to remove the branch and ensure the road was safe for traffic,” Gaonkar said.
The fallen branch, likely due to strong winds or decay, caused a brief disruption to traffic, but thanks to the prompt action of the fire service, there were no reported injuries or major accidents.
The Mapusa Fire Station has been praised for their quick thinking and professionalism in handling the situation. “It’s a testament to their training and dedication,” said a local resident.
