Arpora SC Wins St Anthony’s Cup Football Tournament

siolim: Goa – Arpora Sporting Club secured a thrilling 4-1 win over Xetrapal Sports Club, Oxel, in the St Anthony’s Cup football tournament final, held at the Siolim Church ground on Saturday.

The match, witnessed by a large crowd, ended in a goalless draw after regulation time, with both teams failing to capitalize on scoring chances. Xetrapal SC’s Kanaya and Pushparaj had several opportunities, but Arpora SC’s goalkeeper Davesh Harmalkar and defence held strong.

In the tie-breaker, Arpora SC showed remarkable composure, scoring four goals through Girish Naik, Veron, Pallav, and Bhavesh, while Xetrapal SC’s Kanaya scored the only goal for his team.

Arpora SC’s victory earned them a cash prize of Rs 60,000 and the winners’ trophy, while Xetrapal SC received Rs 40,000 and the runners-up trophy.
