Goa Nightclub Blaze: 3 Govt Officials Suspended Amid Ongoing Probe, Owners on the Run”
PORVORIM: The Goa government has suspended three government officials in connection with the Arpora nightclub blaze at Romeo Lane, which claimed 25 lives and injured six others. The suspended officials are Panchayat Director Ms. Siddhi Halarkar, former Goa State Pollution Control Board Secretary Ms. Sharmila Monteiro, and Arpora-Nagoa Panchayat Secretary M. Raghuvir Bagkar.

According to reliable sources, the investigation is underway, and more government officials are likely to face suspension. Police official Mr. Aloke Kumar revealed that complaints have been lodged against the two owners, and a team has been dispatched to Delhi to apprehend Mr. Saurabh Luthra and Mr. Gaurav Luthra, who are currently on the run with an arrest warrant.
The club manager, Mr. Rajiv Modak, and supervisor Mr. Vivek Singh, along with Rajiv Singhania and Priyanshu Thakur, have been arrested. The victims include four tourists, 14 staff members, and seven unidentified bodies.
Tourism Minister Mr. Rohan Khaunte expressed his condolences, stating, “My heart goes out to the victims and their families. The Goa government stands with the families of the victims and is doing everything possible to assist them in these difficult times.”
