Sanguem to Get New 30ft Shivaji Maharaj Statue:minister subash Phal dessai

Sanguem MLA and Minister Subhash Phal Desai has announced plans to install a new 30ft statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Sanguem, replacing the existing one. The current statue, made of fiber, will be replaced with a stronger and more durable one.

Renowned sculptor Prashant Khedkar, who has created similar statues in Porvorim and Sanguem, has been tasked with the project. The new statue will feature a solid base and will be a prominent landmark in the area.

To fund the initiative, the team plans to stage plays based on Shivaji Maharaj’s life, with proceeds going towards the statue’s construction. The move is expected to boost local tourism and pride in the area.
