“Calangute Panchayat Plays Host to IA&AS Trainees: A Glimpse into Grassroots Governance”
Calangute, November 26, 2025 – In a significant visit, the Village Panchayat Calangute played host to a group of Indian Audit & Accounts Services (IA&AS) trainees from the National Academy of Audit and Accounts, Shimla. The trainees, who are future custodians of financial accountability and good governance, were on a learning exposure tour to understand the functioning and administration of local governance.
The visit aimed to provide the trainees with a firsthand experience of the on-ground implementation of various development works and initiatives undertaken by the Panchayat. The interaction was marked by a presentation on the Panchayat’s activities, followed by a tour of the facilities and projects.
“We are delighted to have hosted the IA&AS trainees,” said secretary for Calangute Panchayat arjun velip . “Their visit underscores the importance of local governance and the role of Panchayats in driving development.
