Equipped With AI Bots, Hi-Tech Gear, Drishti Marine Lifesavers Ensured Safety of Triathletes at IRONMAN 70.3 Goa

Miramar , November 2025 – Fifty-eight lifesavers, backed by AI-powered robots and a fleet of rescue craft, kept watch over hundreds of triathletes as they took to the waters off Miramar beach for the fifth edition of IRONMAN 70.3 Goa. The endurance event, which opened with a 1.9 km swim in the Arabian Sea, saw Goa’s shoreline turned into a high-tech safety zone this year.
The organisers of IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, India’s flagship endurance race, had tied up with Drishti Marine to anchor safety operations for the event’s opening swim leg — a 1.9 km test of stamina in the Arabian Sea off Miramar beach. Drishti Marine, the state’s official lifesaving agency, fielded 58 trained lifesavers backed by seven jet skis, 30 rescue surfboards, two rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), and four vehicles, including medical and logistics support units. Two beach managers oversaw coordination between rescue teams and event officials.
To strengthen emergency readiness, two medical posts were set up along the beach, staffed with trained first responders and equipped to handle on-ground emergencies.
Adding a layer of technology to the mix, Drishti Marine deployed eight TRITON units and two AURUS self-driving robots to patrol the waters, identify potential risks and alert teams in real time. The AI-enabled systems monitored non-swim zones and provided live surveillance throughout the course of the race.
“This was our fifth consecutive year supporting IRONMAN 70.3 Goa, and our team was ready for every eventuality,” said Drishti Marine CEO Navin Awasthi. “With additional RIBs, expanded AI coverage and a stronger coordination system, we aimed to deliver one of the safest editions yet.”
The IRONMAN 70.3 Goa covered 113 km in total, including a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km cycling segment and a 21.1 km run. The event drew endurance athletes from across India and over 50 countries.
