“REVOLUTIONIZING RAIA’S ANIMAL CARE: MINISTER LAUNCHES VETERINARY HOSPITAL”
Raia, November 10, 2025 – In a significant boost to the region’s animal healthcare infrastructure, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Shri. Nilkant Halarnkar, on Monday inaugurated the new Veterinary Hospital at Sonsodo, Raia.
The event, attended by MLAs Shri. Reginaldo lourenco and Shri. Ulhas Tuenkar, marked a major milestone in the government’s efforts to enhance livestock health services in the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Halarnkar emphasized the importance of providing quality veterinary care to the farmers and livestock owners of Raia. “This hospital will not only provide timely medical attention to animals but also serve as a hub for disseminating best practices in animal husbandry and livestock management,” he said.
The new hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and will cater to the needs of the local farming community, providing them with easy access to quality veterinary services. Secretary (AH&VS), Shri. Prasanna Acharya, IAS, and Director, (AH&VS), Dr. Nitin Naik, were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
The launch of this hospital is expected to benefit numerous farmers and livestock owners in Raia and surrounding areas, contributing to the overall growth and development of the region’s agricultural sector ¹.
