Sixth Edition of Ironman 70.3 Goa Strengthens Goa’s Presence on the Global Sporting Map
CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Flags Off Race at Miramar Beach; Over 2,000 Athletes from 30 Countries and 300 Cities Participate
Panaji, November 1, 2026: Goa’s growing stature as a global sporting destination received a significant boost as Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant flagged off the sixth edition of Ironman 70.3 Goa at Miramar Beach. Celebrating global sporting excellence and endurance, the prestigious international event brought together athletes from across the world.
Witnessing growing international participation, this edition saw over 2,000 athletes representing 30 countries and 300 cities. Since its inaugural edition in 2019, which witnessed approximately 1,000 participants, the event has recorded significant growth. Over the years, athletes from 68 countries have participated in Ironman 70.3 Goa, reflecting its expanding international reach.
Flagging off the prestigious international sporting event, CM Dr. Pramod Sawant stated that the sixth edition further strengthens Goa’s position as a global sporting destination while celebrating endurance, determination and sporting excellence. He observed that Goa’s identity extends beyond its popular image of ‘Sun, Sand and Sea’ and is increasingly being recognised for its religious, cultural, spiritual, educational and sporting contributions.
Bringing together athletes from diverse backgrounds on an international platform, the event has further enhanced Goa’s visibility as a destination for global sporting participation. Expressing confidence in the event’s continued growth, CM Dr. Sawant stated that he would inaugurate the next edition of Ironman 70.3 Goa as well, reaffirming his support for the event and its future editions
