Goa-Odisha clash poised for an exciting finish

Sanguem: The four-day Colonel C.K. Nayudu Trophy Elite cricket match between Goa and Odisha is finely poised at the end of day two. After Odisha were bowled out for 199 in their first innings, Goa replied with 253 all out. Odisha reached 51 for one at stumps in their second innings, trailing by just three runs with nine wickets in hand.
Resuming at their overnight score of 65 for one, Goa would have hoped to build a substantial first-innings lead. However, they managed only 188 more runs before being bowled out for 253. Captain Aryan Narvekar led the Goa batting with a valuable 82, striking 13 boundaries. Shaantanu Nevagi contributed 53, while Sarthak Bhike scored 40 and Anuj Yadav added 29. Dishank Miskin made 16.
Goa were comfortably placed at 243 for five but suffered a dramatic collapse, losing their last five wickets for just 10 runs.
Abhishek Singh was Odisha’s most successful bowler, claiming three wickets for 26 runs. Arpit Mohanty, Sarthak Panda and Syed Ahmed picked up two wickets each, while Sambit Behera took one.
Odisha made a steady start to their second innings. Panakala Sasanka remained unbeaten on 27, while Sambit Beja was not out on six at the close of play. Ayush Sutar contributed 17 before becoming the only wicket to fall. With Odisha just three runs behind and nine wickets remaining, the match is set for an intriguing third day.
