*_Candolim Gram Sabha Discusses GSIDC Works, Traffic Issues and Rejuvenation of Ponds_.*
Candolim: The Candolim Gram Sabha was held in a peaceful atmosphere, with villagers offering suggestions on various developmental issues.
Villagers raised concerns about the ongoing developmental works by GSIDC, stressing the need for proper execution and adequate safety measures. The Panchayat assured that the concerns would be brought to the attention of GSIDC Chairman and MLA Michael Lobo to ensure that the work is carried out properly and necessary safety measures are implemented.
The proposed development of the Candolim market was also discussed. Other issues included illegal constructions, traffic congestion, speed limits and the installation of speed breakers.
Considering the impact of the poor monsoon and the El Niño effect, the Candolim Panchayat has also decided to undertake the rejuvenation of all 12 ponds in the village.
“We are working on the rejuvenation of the 12 ponds in Candolim,” said Sarpanch Blaize Fernandes.
