VP Radhakrishnan Lands at INS Hansa, Governor Raju Leads Grand Welcome*
Vice President’s first visit to the coastal state sparks high protocol reception at India’s strategic naval base_
VASCO, GOA: Goa rolled out its ceremonial best on Friday morning as the Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, touched down at INS Hansa. He was personally received at the tarmac of the Indian Navy’s historic air station in Vasco by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, in a rare high-protocol welcome that underlined the strategic importance of the visit. Unlike routine arrivals, the Vice President’s landing at INS Hansa — the nerve centre of naval aviation on the west coast — gave the visit an immediate defence and coastal-security tone, even before any official agenda was announced.

Present were Minister for Protocol Mauvin Godinho, MLAs Shri Sankalp Amonkar and Shri Krishna Daji Salkar, Chief Secretary Dr. V. Candavelou, IAS, DGP Goa Shri Alok Kumar, IPS, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area Rear Admiral Ajay Daniel Theophilus, VSM, Collector South Goa Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, and SP South Goa Shri Akshat Ayush, IPS. Sources in Raj Bhavan said the Vice President’s Goa visit is expected to include key engagements with state leadership and the naval establishment, though the full itinerary is being kept under wraps for now.
