Goan Kids to Watch World Cinema as Bulbul Festival Returns to Margao

MARGAO: Forget the mobile screen – Goan children will get the big screen experience. The countdown for Goa’s only international film festival dedicated to children has begun.The Department of Information and Publicity on Thursday held the Curtain Raiser for the 4th Bulbul Children’s International Film Festival at the Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, and the response said it all – teachers, parents and students turned up in large numbers, proving that meaningful cinema still has an audience among children. Present were PWD Minister Shri Digambar Kamat, film producer and actor Damu Naik and DIP DirectorAbhir Hede, who unveiled details of the five-day cinematic celebration.

This is not just another festival. Bulbul has carved a niche for bringing award-winning films from around the globe that speak the language of childhood – stories of courage, friendship, imagination and culture .The main festival will run from October 12 to 16, 2026, at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, transforming the venue into a vibrant space of screenings, interactions and learning.
