Constitutional Values in Focus at All India Lawyers Union conference
Panaji: The 5th Goa State Conference of the All India Lawyers Union (AILU) was recently held on 4/10/2026 in Panaji.
Senior Advocate Cleofato Coutinho was the Guest Speaker and delivered a talk on the topic ‘Constitutional values and the role of lawyers to support the basic principles of the Constitution’.
The conference was attended by a large number of lawyers, students & other professionals from various parts of Goa. The challenges facing the judiciary, various problems faced by lawyers and the role of the organization in providing justice to the common citizens were discussed in detail.
The Conference reviewed the past activities of the organization and also unanimously elected a new State Committee for the next term, 2026-2029.
Adv. Jatin Naik has been elected as the President of the new State Committee.
The new committee includes

– Adv. Leona Barretto – Secretary. Adv. Celerina D’Sa – Treasurer

– Adv. Avinash Bhosale, Adv. Victor Savio Braganca, Adv Prasenjit Dhage, Adv. Zayd Shaikh, Adv Subhash Naik George, Prof Burye, Mr Tiwari, Dr Narayan Kharade, Adv Veena Naik & Adv Maurisa Monteiro Members.
– Adv. Shashank Narvekar has been appointed as Member & Spokesperson.
Additional Taluka vise appointments will be done as per the at the next State Committee Meeting.
