U-16 J.Y. Lele Cricket tournament : Goa Bowled Out for 120, Baroda (A) Struggle at 62/6 on Day 1
BARODA: Goa and Baroda (A) are locked in a closely fought contest in the All India U-16 Late J.Y. Lele Invitational Two-Day Cricket Tournament at the BCA Stadium B Ground in Baroda. At the end of the first day’s play, Goa were bowled out for 120 in 52.1 overs, while Baroda struggled to 62 for six in 39 overs, trailing by 58 runs with only four wickets in hand.
For Goa, Mrunal Naik (23), Shaurya Chodankar (20), Ishant Tivekar (19) and Tanishq Naik (15) made useful contributions with the bat. Yash Trivedi was the standout bowler for Baroda, claiming six wickets for 20 runs, while Ayush Patel took two wickets for 20 runs.
In reply, Baroda found Goa’s bowling attack difficult to negotiate and lost six wickets for just 62 runs. Mrunal Naik led the bowling effort with an impressive spell of three wickets for just seven runs. Tanishq Naik, Samarth Dhulapkar and Sparsh Gawas claimed a wicket each, putting Goa in a strong position heading into the second day.
