Qualifier Erika Andreeva Stuns Polina Iatcenko To Enter Round of 16 at Adana Open
Adana: Russian qualifier Erika Andreeva continued her strong run at the inaugural WTA 125 Adana Open, defeating compatriot Polina Iatcenko in straight sets in the Round of 32 at Ipek Court on Monday.Andreeva, ranked 214 won both sets against the 160th-ranked Iatcenko to advance to the next round. The match saw Andreeva dominate on key points, converting 100% of her break point chances while Iatcenko managed only 14%.Iatcenko, 22, who came into Adana after winning two matches in Ankara last week, struggled with double faults and consistency. Andreeva fired an ace and maintained a 59% win rate on her first serve.With this win, Andreeva set up a Round of 16 clash against 3rd seed Simona Waltert, which she later won 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the WTA 125K event being held from September 26 to October 4 at the Adana Tennis, Mountain and Water Sports Club.
