Goa Remembers Its Illustrious Son: Minister Ramesh Tawadkar Pays Tribute to Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes at Navelim
Leaders across political spectrum join to honour the legacy of Goan parliamentarian, thinker and reformer on his death anniversary
Margao: Minister for Art and Culture, Ramesh Tawadkar on Wednesday paid homage and placed a wreath at the statue of Late Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes at Navelim, commemorating his death anniversary. The solemn ceremony saw leaders from across party lines coming together to honour the legacy of the eminent Goan statesman. Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar, former Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Navelim, Fr. Gabriel Coutinho, Collector, South Goa, Ms. Egna Cleetus, IAS, and other dignitaries and locals also paid their respects on the occasion.


Dr. Francisco Luis Gomes is remembered as one of Goa’s greatest intellectuals, a parliamentarian, freedom fighter and social reformer whose contributions continue to inspire generations.
