Iatcenko to Face Qualifier Erika Andreeva in First Round Adana, Turkey
The scheduled first-round clash between Polina Iatcenko and Ekaterine Gorgodze at the inaugural WTA 125 Adana Open will not take place. According to the official player list, Ekaterine Gorgodze withdrew before the tournament and has been replaced by Lucky Loser Loïs Boisson. The tournament, which is the first ever WTA event staged in the city of Adana at the Adana Tennis, Mountain and Water Sports Club – ATDSK, is being played from 28 September to 4 October 2026 on outdoor hard courts. As per the main draw, Polina Iatcenko will now open her campaign against Qualifier Erika Andreeva in the Round of 32. The winner of that match is slated to face the winner of Anastasia Tikhonova vs 3rd seed Simona Waltert. Iatcenko, 22, comes into Adana in good form after winning two matches in Ankara last week, beating Weronika Falkowska and Ksenia Zaytseva before losing to Teodora Kostovic.
