Anganwadi Workers are the Backbone of Child Development: Mapusa MLA at ‘Angan Ka Utsav’
Mapusa: The Women & Child Development Department, WCD-Bardez Block, hosted ‘Angan Ka Utsav’ – a special programme to celebrate the vital role of Anganwadi Centres in early childhood care and development. Mapusa MLA Joshua Dsouza was honoured to be part of the celebration along with Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and MLA of Porvorim, Rohan Khaunte .


Addressing the gathering, the Mapusa MLA lauded the selfless service of Anganwadi workers and helpers, calling them the backbone of grassroots health and child welfare. The programme showcased various activities, achievements and community initiatives undertaken by Anganwadi Centres across Bardez.
The event highlighted how Anganwadi workers play a crucial role not just in nurturing children, but also in supporting mothers, strengthening families and building stronger community participation. The occasion also witnessed the felicitation of dedicated Anganwadi workers for their outstanding contribution at the grassroots level.
