Selected Shacks on Calangute-Candolim Belt to Turn Air-Conditioned Co-Working Spaces This Season
Calangute: Select beach shacks along the Calangute-Candolim stretch are likely to be air-conditioned this tourist season, as the government plans to continue its ‘Work from Beach Goa Shack-a-thon’ initiative. The concept, launched by the Department of IT, Electronics and Communications, aims to convert selected shacks into temporary co-working spaces equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and dedicated workstations.
Shack Owners Welfare Society (SOWS) general secretary John Lobo said that selected shack operators may be required to install ACs and remain operational throughout the season, possibly under a revenue-sharing arrangement with the department.Meanwhile, construction work has already begun at several locations, with a few shacks expected to become operational in the first week of October.
