Goa launches tourist facilitator certification programme to create skilled tourism professionals
PANAJI: Sept 25 The Goa government on Thursday launched a state-level Tourist Facilitator Certification Programme aimed at equipping youth with professional skills and knowledge to work in the tourism sector.
Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said the programme would provide young people an opportunity to build careers within Goa’s tourism ecosystem while helping showcase the state’s heritage, culture, ecology and diverse tourism offerings.
“Tourism creates opportunities across a very wide spectrum. It can be a guide, a driver, a farmer, an artisan or a family running a homestay,” Khaunte said at the launch.
