POP Idols Found Broken, Floating at Miramar; Youth Group Performs Re-Visarjan
Panaji: A dedicated group of volunteers from Youth of Goa conducted an early-morning Re-Visarjan Drive at Miramar Beach at 6 am, following Ganesh Visarjan.
According to volunteer Sujan Naik, several Ganesh idols were found floating at Miramar and Caranzalem beaches after the visarjan. Many of the idols, mostly made of Plaster of Paris, were broken and were polluting the sea. The volunteers respectfully collected the idols and performed Re-Visarjan with proper rituals, ensuring that the idols were treated with dignity while addressing concerns about coastal pollution. Naik said that the initiative is not a one-time activity and that the dedicated youth group has been carrying out the Re-Visarjan drive every year for several years. He thanked all the volunteers who joined the early-morning drive to help keep Goa’s coastline clean and respectful.
