Another Fresh Accident at Porvorim Flyover Revives Demand to Ban 2-Wheelers on Elevated Corridor
PORVORIM – A fresh accident involving a two-wheeler and a four-wheeler at the same spot opposite Hotel Majestic on the Porvorim elevated corridor has compelled the government to reconsider allowing two-wheelers on the flyover. on Sunday, a two-wheeler rider mistakenly entered Atal Setu but applied brakes after realizing the ban on two-wheelers. While attempting to take a U-turn, a speeding vehicle coming from behind collided with him, damaging the vehicle. The rider escaped unhurt. The father of the minor girl, who sustained a thigh bone fracture in Saturday’s fatal accident, has demanded financial compensation from the driver of the Maruti Baleno and urged police to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation. He said the deceased Amuta Salgaonkar was a neighbour and known to the family.
