CM Sawant opens Chavthicho Bazaar in Panaji, gives boost to SHGs ahead of Chovoth
PANAJI: Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Wednesday inaugurated the three-day Chavthicho Bazaar at the Old GMC Complex, Panaji.
The bazaar has been organised by the Surabhi MCLF Co-operative Multipurpose Society Ltd., with the support of the Goa State Rural Livelihood Mission (GSRLM) and the Department of Rural Development.
The market, set up ahead of the Chovoth festival, showcases a wide range of festive essentials, traditional Goan sweets, handicrafts, decorative items, and products made by Self-Help Groups (SHGs) from across the state.Inaugurating the event, Chief Minister Dr. Sawant said that such bazaars provide a vital platform for rural women entrepreneurs and SHGs to showcase their talent and become self-reliant.
He said the government is committed to strengthening the rural economy and promoting the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Swayampurna Goa’ missions.He appealed to the people of Panaji to visit the bazaar and support local artisans and women entrepreneurs during the festive season.
