Dempo College (Autonomous) Signs MoU with Nave Marg to Launch ‘FLAP SHAKTI’, Financial Literacy Drive for Mothers and Faculty
Panaji: In a major initiative toward women’s economic empowerment and community financial wellness, DCT’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), Cujira, has partnered with Nave Marg Financial Services Pvt. Ltd., Margao, to roll out ‘FLAP SHAKTI’, a dedicated financial literacy program curated specifically for the mothers of college students and faculty members.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof. (Dr) Manoj S. Kamat, Principal of DCT’s Srinivassa Sinai Dempo College (Autonomous), and Dr. Celso Fernandes, Founder & Chief Visionary Officer of Nave Marg Financial Services Pvt. Ltd. Vice Principal Prof. Deepali Churi, Head of the Commerce Department Ms. Derina Rodrigues, and Asst. Prof. Richelle Pereira were present on the occasion.
Under this partnership, Nave Marg will deliver a structured, certified curriculum, comprising digital modules, video sessions, and assessments, free of cost. The college will coordinate on-ground implementation, outreach, and registration across its student and faculty network.
Highlighting the objective of the initiative, Prof. (Dr) Manoj S. Kamat said:
“Empowering mothers with financial knowledge creates an immediate multiplier effect across households. Through ‘FLAP SHAKTI’, we want to convert everyday financial awareness into confident, long-term decision-making.”
Underscoring the industry perspective, Dr. Celso Fernandes stated:
“Sustainable financial inclusion starts at home. This collaboration ensures structured, practical financial education reaches the key decision-makers who anchor family resilience.”
Valid for one year with an option for renewal, participant registrations for the initial cohort will begin shortly.
