AIFF hands Churchill national ban on player registration, club says matter already resolved
Panaji: (Sep 4) All India Football Federation (AIFF) handed Churchill Brothers FC a national ban on player registration on the directive of FIFA Disciplinary Committee after a pay dispute but the Goan club claimed that the matter has now been resolved.
The matter is related to alleged unpaid dues owed to English forward Kurtis Owen Guthrie whom Churchill Brothers, which is set to play in the upcoming Indian Super League season, signed before the 2024–25 season.
“This circular is to notify all the Member Associations (MA) and stakeholders of the AIFF that a National Ban on the registration of new players has been imposed on the Club Churchill Brothers FC Goa, a club registered with the Goa Football Association,” the AIFF said in a letter dated September 2.
