Yuri Alemao seeks CM assurance on waste management
Porvorim: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao raised the pending waste management issue in the Goa Assembly and sought an assurance from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. He flagged the unchecked accumulation of dry and wet waste across the state — along beaches, fields, forests, water bodies, and major roads like Aquem bypass, Borim-Bethora bypass etc. — and questioned the delay in action Alemao said it is not just an eyesore but a health hazard that contaminates ecosystems and hurts Goa’s image as a sustainable tourist destination.
CM Pramod Sawant took note and assured the House that the government would take appropriate action to address the waste challenges.
