3 govt office canteens shut in Goa after FDA finds structural, hygiene lapses
Porvorim: (Aug 27) Three canteens serving government offices in Goa have been asked to halt operations after the FDA found serious structural deficiencies and poor kitchen hygiene during a surveillance drive, state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said on Thursday.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) team carried out the surveillance drive covering canteens and eateries operating in and around office establishments at Porvorim in North Goa.
Four units were inspected, including three canteens serving government offices and one private restaurant, Rane said on X while posting photos of food quality and infrastructure at some establishments.
