Man held for throwing eggs at Ganesh idol procession in Mumbai

MUMBAI: (Aug 25) A 22-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly threw eggs at a Ganesh idol procession at Mazgaon in south Mumbai, with police saying he was angered by firecrackers being burst outside a housing society.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Jayant Meena said the accused, identified as Danish Sher Khan, used to take online orders for egg deliveries.

On the day of the incident, Khan, a delivery person, had gone to deliver an order at the Continental Heights building in Mazgaon. However, smoke resulting from the firecrackers outside the society caused irritation in his eyes, leaving him unable to walk properly, the official said.
