Goa cops crack ‘digital arrest’ case, nab cyber fraudster from Maharashtra
PANAJI: (Aug 24) Nearly six months after a resident of Canacona in Goa became the victim of a “digital arrest” and impersonation fraud and was cheated of Rs 42.60 lakh, Goa Cyber Crime Police apprehended a 20-year-old man from Maharashtra, officials said on Monday.
Police traced the accused, identified as Tejas Narhare, to Nanded based on technical analysis and investigation.
A case was registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Goa on March 20 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under provisions of the Information Technology Act.
