Retaining Wall to Enhance Safety at Khorlim: MLA Mapusa MLA Inspects Work in Ward No. 16
Mapusa: Mapusa MLA Joshua Dsouza on Thursday inspected the ongoing work of a retaining wall at Bonu Salgaonkar’s property in Ward No. 16, Khorlim .The work was taken up following persistent demands from local residents for a safety barricade along the busy stretch, which is frequented by tourists, heavy vehicles and local traffic.
With limited scope for road widening in the area, the construction of a retaining wall was identified as a practical and sustainable solution to ensure safety. Bonu Salgaonkar extended his full cooperation by providing space from his property for the execution of the work.
Speaking on the occasion Mapusa MLA said that the retaining wall will significantly improve safety along the stretch, protect residents living in the vicinity and ensure smoother movement of traffic. MLA also lauded the spirit of cooperation shown by the residents, stating that such public participation helps in addressing critical local infrastructure needs and finding practical, on-ground solutions for the constituency.
