Rangoli Workshop and Competition Held at Sikeri
Bicholim: A successful two-day Rangoli workshop was recently organised by the Sikeri Mayem Farm Foundation and the Gomantak Gausevak Mahasangh at Sikeri Goshala Hall, Sikeri, Mayem, Bicholim-Goa.
The workshop, held from 9 am to 5 pm, witnessed the participation of 65 enthusiasts. It was conducted by Rangoli instructor Mohan Khavnekar, along with his assistants Deepalaxmi Asgaonkar and Chaitrali Asgaonkar.
The participants were taught the traditional ‘Sanskar Bharati’ style of Rangoli, with the instructors demonstrating various techniques and designs. The participants enthusiastically took part in the workshop and enjoyed the learning experience on both days.
A certificate distribution ceremony was held on the concluding day, with certificates presented to the participants for successfully completing the workshop.
Following the workshop, a Rangoli Competition was organised exclusively for the workshop participants at the Sikeri Goshala Hall. The participants displayed their creativity and skills through a variety of Rangoli designs.
The winners of the Rangoli Competition were:
* First Prize: Sayika Naik – ₹3,000, Trophy and Certificate
* Second Prize: Kalpana Volvoikar – ₹2,000, Trophy and Certificate
* Third Prize: Manvi Jalmi – ₹1,000, Trophy and Certificate
* First Consolation Prize: Sunita Gawander – ₹500 and Certificate
* Second Consolation Prize: Avni Vaigankar – ₹500 and Certificate
The organisers congratulated all the winners and participants and expressed their appreciation for the enthusiastic response to the workshop and competition, which provided an opportunity to learn, practise and promote the traditional art of Rangoli.
