Librarian’s Day Celebrated at People’s Higher Secondary School
Panaji: People’s Higher Secondary School celebrated National Librarian’s Day with enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Smt. Ratna Sardessai, who appealed to the students to explore different books and develop the habit of reading. On the occasion, QR Code access to Question Papers was launched at the hands of the Principal, providing students with convenient access to question papers for academic preparation.
Librarian Sushama Paidarkar welcomed the gathering and introduced the programme. Various competitions, including a Book Cover Competition and Puzzle Words Competition, were organised for students and teachers as part of the celebration.
Librarians Sakshi Shetye and Sushama Paidarkar, along with teachers Manoj Raikar, Laxmi Awasare, Vijaysinh Ajgaonkar, Nagesh Sardessai and Ashvita Karekar, were present.
Librarian Sakshi Shetye proposed the vote of thanks. The celebration provided students with an opportunity to appreciate the importance of libraries and the valuable role of librarians in promoting knowledge, reading and lifelong learning.
