Goa BJP accuses Congress of ‘double standards’ on Jharkhand protest, seeks Rahul’s apology
PANAJI: (Aug 11) Goa BJP leaders on Tuesday demanded an apology from Rahul Gandhi over his “silence” on ongoing protests in Ranchi and accused the Congress of adopting “double standards” on issues concerning the youth.
Addressing a press conference here, BJP MLA and state minister Mauvin Godinho alleged that students in Jharkhand were subjected to atrocities and police action despite protesting over their demands.
“This exposes the double standards of the Congress party. When students protested at Jantar Mantar, the Congress was at the forefront, labelling the BJP government anti-student. The party claimed it had the highest regard for the sentiments of the youth,” Godinho said.
