Goa U-23 Cricket Team Begins Pre-Season Camp in Delhi

 

Panaji: The Goa Cricket Association’s (GCA) Under-23 cricket team has begun its pre-season training camp in Delhi ahead of the upcoming domestic season. The camp aims to improve the players’ fitness, technical skills and overall match readiness through intensive training sessions.

Avadoot Amonkar is the head coach, while Aditya Naik is the fielding coach. Deepak Sahu has been appointed Strength and Conditioning Coach, with Vivek Kumar Mishra serving as physiotherapist. Joshua Talwar is the team masseur and Gautam Komarpant is the team manager.

The camp is expected to provide the young cricketers with valuable exposure and structured preparation ahead of the forthcoming BCCI domestic competitions. The GCA has emphasised creating a professional environment to support the development of its emerging players.

Speaking on the initiative, Goa Cricket Association President and former Ranji player Mahesh Dessai said, “Our objective is to ensure that every player is well prepared to meet the demands of the domestic season. This camp provides an excellent platform for the boys to enhance their skills, improve their fitness and gain valuable experience in a competitive environment. We are committed to nurturing young talent and building a strong future for Goa cricket.”

GCA Secretary Tulsidas Shetye said, “The Association remains focused on providing our young cricketers with the best possible training facilities and support staff. This pre-season camp is an important step in their preparation, and we are confident the players will benefit immensely from the exposure and structured coaching. We wish the team a successful and productive camp.”
