Will probe illegal purchase of agri land in areas bordering Goa: Maharashtra minister
PANAJI: (Aug 5) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday said the state government will conduct an inquiry into complaints that people from outside the state have illegally acquired agricultural land in areas bordering Goa by falsely claiming to be farmers.
There have been complaints that individuals from outside Maharashtra have illegally purchased farmlands in Sawantwadi and Dodamarg talukas, located in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district adjoining Goa, by misrepresenting themselves as farmers.
