Goa Crime Branch busts 2 interstate drug cartels, uncovers jail-based narcotics network
PANAJI: (Jul 31) Police in Goa on Thursday said they have busted two interstate drug trafficking networks in separate intelligence-led operations, one of them running from inside a Central Jail in the coastal state, and nabbed four individuals.
Two other accused linked to one of the networks were in the Delhi Police’s custody. The Goa Crime Branch, which executed the operations, seized narcotic substances worth more than Rs 43 lakh and exposed an alleged drug distribution racket operating from inside the Central Jail in Colvale, they said.
The agency facilitated the arrest of an absconding murder and dacoity accused believed to be a key ganja (cannabis) trafficker from Telangana, they said in a media release.
