Police destroy narcotics worth Rs 7.5 crore in Kochi
KOCHI: (Jul 29) Police on Wednesday destroyed narcotic substances worth around Rs 7.5 crore seized from various parts of Kochi city over the past year.
The contraband, comprising ganja, MDMA, hashish oil, Nitrazepam tablets and brown sugar, was incinerated at the Brahmapuram waste management facility under a special drive named Operation Fire, Kochi City Police Commissioner K Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar told reporters.
The Commissioner, who was present at the facility during the destruction process, said the exercise was carried out as part of the state government’s anti-drug campaign, Operation Toofan.
