Mapusa to Get Tourism Push, Govt Backs Plan to Include Market Town in Goa Itinerary

Mapusa MLA Joshua Dsouza held a productive meeting  with Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte, along with representatives of the Mapusa Merchants Association and the Bodgeshwar Temple Committee, to discuss a collective roadmap for enhancing Mapusa’s identity as a vibrant destination.

The discussions focused on proposals for the beautification of key areas, strengthening the town’s appeal, and exploring the inclusion of Mapusa in Goa’s tourism itinerary. With its rich heritage, bustling market, and cultural landmarks, Mapusa has immense potential to become a destination that every visitor experiences while exploring Goa.  Tourism Minister welcomed the proposals and extended his support to the initiative. Through coordinated efforts between the Goa Tourism Department and local stakeholders, the vision is to give Mapusa a renewed facelift while preserving its unique character, creating greater opportunities for local businesses, residents, and visitors alike.
