Goa BJP MLA Jennifer Monserrate cremated with full state honours

PANAJI: (Jul 20) The mortal remains of BJP MLA and former minister Jennifer Monserrate were consigned to flames with full state honours on Monday, according to Hindu cremation rituals after church prayers in Goa.

Monserrate (56), a three-term MLA from the Taleigao constituency in North Goa district near Panaji, passed away at a private hospital here on Sunday after a prolonged illness.A devout Christian, she had expressed her wish to be cremated according to Hindu rites.
