Two held with 6 kg of suspected ambergris in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta
PATHANAMTHITTA (KERALA): (Jul 20) Two men were arrested with six kg of suspected ambergris, a rare substance commonly known as whale vomit and valued at crores of rupees in the international market, during a police operation in this district, officials said on Monday.
The accused were arrested near Valiya Koyikkal Bridge in Pandalam on Sunday during a joint operation by the Pandalam police and the district DANSAF team under Operation Toofan, according to a press release.
The arrested men were identified as Rajeev (39), a native of Odanavattom, and Soman (48), a resident of Neduvathoor in Kottarakkara.
